For quite some time, I have wanted to make a nice image of a fern as it uncurled itself. A frontlit result wouldn't do...it had to be backlit. It was very difficult to find one in just the right position...on an uphill slope so that I could get practically beneath it with my cumbersome camera and tripod setup. I think you can see why backlighting was my preference.
